Performance Characteristics and Validation

Sensitivity
Each analyte channel is validated to its lowest detectable concentration — defined as the mean signal of zero standard plus 2 standard deviations. Detection limits are analyte-specific and stated in the individual kit datasheet and CoA.

Precision
Intra- and inter-assay coefficients of variation (CVs) are determined by testing high, mid, and low concentration samples across multiple runs and operators. Target CVs are <15% for all analyte channels. Lot-specific CV data are included in the Certificate of Analysis.

Specificity
Each capture-detection antibody pair is validated against structurally related family members and endogenous matrix proteins to confirm analyte selectivity in the relevant species matrix. Cross-reactivity data are provided in the datasheet.

Sample Compatibility
PrimePlex kits are optimised for serum and EDTA, heparin, or citrate plasma. Compatibility with cell culture supernatants, tissue lysates, CSF, urine, and other matrices is noted per panel. Sample-specific dilution recommendations are provided in each protocol.

How many analytes can I measure in a single PrimePlex kit?

PrimePlex panels range from 2-plex (two simultaneous analytes) to 12-plex (twelve analytes in one well). The panel size is selected based on the biological pathway being profiled — smaller panels for focused mechanistic studies, larger panels for broad discovery or pathway mapping. All pre-built configurations are validated as complete units; analyte channels are not sold separately.

Can I use PrimePlex kits with cell culture supernatants or tissue lysates?

Yes. While PrimePlex panels are primarily optimised and validated for serum and plasma (EDTA, heparin, citrate), many panels are also compatible with cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, BAL fluid, CSF, urine, and other biological matrices.
